Deerfield Township is one of the eighteen townships in Portage County, Ohio. The 2020 census found 2,822 people in the township (census reporter.org).
The township is governed by three-member board trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it.There is also an elected township fiscal officer, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election.
Tuesday, September 17th at 4pm, there will be a Special Meeting at the town hall regarding a personnel disciplinary hearing. The meeting is open to the public.

There will be a meeting of Trustees Sunday, January 15th at 5:30 pm to discuss an urgent issue regarding the Fire Department and equipment. This meeting will take place at the Deerfield Town Hall and the public is welcome to attend.
